
Coleman Rader
The Approach Control room is situated in the Coleman Tower. It used to be at
Heidelberg Army Airfield and when it shut down, it was moved to Coleman .
First the facility used the station call sign : Heidelberg Approach, but was
then renamed Coleman Radar.
Approach control was done since the early 1970s as conventional Approach. Radar approch
was established on the 12 June 2002. We are the only U.S Army Unit in Germany which does
it and has an Appoach airspace.
We
provide App Controll for the whole Rhein Neckar Region including the following
military and civilian airfields:
Mannheim Neuostheim (EDFM), civ
Flugplatz Speyer (EDRY), civ
Flugplatz Worms (EDFV), civ
Heidelberg AAF (ETIE), mil
Coleman AAF (ETOR), mil
A number of small glider airfields and Hospital Heliports!!
